In the 50's he showed with the Bodley Gallery, known for showing Andy Warhol, Yves Tanguy and Max Ernst. His work is in private collections as well as the Whitney Museum of American Art. In the 1960 and 70's he worked for Kulicke Frames, referred to as the most innovative picture frame designer in the US at that time. In 1974 Olsen left Kulicke to launch his own fine art framing business. Olsen Studio provided conservation framing for museums, galleries, and collectors across New York City, including the Museum of Modern Art.
