A fine Modernist carved abstract two forms wooden sculpture attributed to Beatrice Murray. The two forms having smoothed polished sides and textured bark areas.
Mounted on a square wooden base. Size; 18 inches high (45.5 cm). Small natural flaws and knots with some age related splits to the wood. They do have a slight wobble and one has a small chip near the.Mounting hole so they would benefit from re-mounting. Beatrice Murray produced a bronze and fibre glass bust of Margaret Thatcher which Margaret Thatcher sat for in person over a number of sittings.
There are numerous newspaper cuttings related to this include photographs of Beatrice Murray with Margaret Thatcher, dated circa June 11th 1975. Mrs Murray also produced busts of Billie Jean King.
