Rodea S table lamp designed by Louis Kalff and manufactured by Philips. The lampshade is made of sheet metal lacquered matt green on the outside and white on the inside. The lampshade rests on a metal structure fitted around the bulb casing. The casing is itself encased in a metal cylinder lacquered matt green.
The curved stem is made of a brass rod. The base is made of cast iron with a sheet metal cover lacquered matt green. The original switch is placed on the base. The Philips logo is stamped on the base by the stem.The lamp is in good condition and in full working order. There are paint chips to the base and bulb housing and a dent along the edge of the base (please see pictures). It takes one E27 bulb. The lamp has been re-wired and earthed. This item is suitable for 110-240v supplies.
As with all vintage electrical equipment, it is advisable to have it checked by a qualified electrician. Although we strive to give as accurate a description as possible, patina and age-related wear are to be expected. However, we will always indicate any noticeable defects. Kalff, a Dutch designer and architect, started working for the company in 1925.
